Breaking the Logjam Symposium
Over 40 environmental experts from academia, environmental groups, business, and government presented specific proposals for new federal programs on climate and oceans and major changes in existing laws for air pollution, water pollution, endangered species, farm policy, grazing on the public lands, federal water policy, hazardous waste, nuclear waste, sprawl and smart growth, traffic congestion and transportation. In addition, experts presented proposals on cross-cutting topics including environmental information systems, managerial strategies, improved regulatory science, and innovative regulatory approaches based on environmental services, property rights systems (including trading), taxes and subsidies as well as strategies for an appropriate division of regulatory responsibilities at the global, national, and state and local levels.

Global Administrative Law Conference
This conference brought together leading specialists on different regulatory problems - from the UN Security Council to the World Bank, from food safety to labor standards to timber certification - to consider the big picture of how the administration of global governance does work and should work. The aim was to help map and shape the emerging new field of global administrative law. It includes mechanisms for participation and review in transnational agencies, industry bodies, and private-public partnerships, and the roles of national courts in reviewing transnational rules and decisions.

Regulatory Expropriations Conference
The Conference provided participants an opportunity to learn about recent legislative and arbitral developments, to draw upon the experience of scholars, policy-makers, and advocates from North and South America and Europe , and to delve into the underlying normative and pragmatic questions raised by the debate.
